I had no idea how complicated it can be until today.<\/p>\n<p>In this installation of SCCM 2007 R2 (in my case R3) with SP2 &#8211; Configuration options where greyed out in the &#8220;Copy Reports Wizard&#8221; as well as when you\u00a0right click the Reporting Services Server icon below Reports in the SCCM-console.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/sccm.haas.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/grey.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" title=\"grey\" src=\"http:\/\/sccm.haas.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/grey-300x278.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"278\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">According to <a title=\"Microsoft\" href=\"http:\/\/blogs.technet.com\/b\/configmgrteam\/archive\/2009\/05\/14\/faq-sql-reporting-services-integration-with-system-center-configuration-manager-2007-r2.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Microsoft<\/a> this can happen if you run more than two instances of SQL Reporting Services on the same machine and\u00a0that&#8217;ll make ConfigMgr confused\u00a0since it\u00a0automatically selects\u00a0the default instance of Reporting\u00a0Server\u00a0through WMI.\u00a0I&#8217;m pretty sure\u00a0 this issue happens\u00a0if you choose &#8220;Install but do not configure the report server&#8221; during the SQL 2008 installation instead of &#8220;Install the native mode configuration&#8221;. I have to test this in the lab but I&#8217;m guessing the SQL RPS instance never gets created if you don&#8217;t configure RPS\u00a0and therefore SCCM can&#8217;t find it.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to fix\u00a0 this, all you need to do is to open Reporting Services Configuration Manager and configure RPS manually.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\n<img title=\"gallery columns=&quot;2&quot;\" src=\"..\/wp-includes\/js\/tinymce\/plugins\/wpgallery\/img\/t.gif\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><figure id=\"attachment_198\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-198\" style=\"width: 450px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sccm.haas.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/rpscm1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-198 \" title=\"rpscm1\" src=\"http:\/\/sccm.haas.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/rpscm1-450x339.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"339\" srcset=\"http:\/\/sccm.haas.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/rpscm1-450x339.png 450w, http:\/\/sccm.haas.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/rpscm1.png 962w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-198\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The network account works fine but I believe that Local System is more secure.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/p>\n<p><figure id=\"attachment_199\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-199\" style=\"width: 450px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sccm.haas.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/rpscm2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-199 \" title=\"rpscm2\" src=\"http:\/\/sccm.haas.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/rpscm2-450x339.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"339\" srcset=\"http:\/\/sccm.haas.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/rpscm2-450x339.png 450w, http:\/\/sccm.haas.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/rpscm2.png 962w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-199\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Here you need to create the RP-database and use an account to access it.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/p>\n<p><figure id=\"attachment_197\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-197\" style=\"width: 450px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sccm.haas.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/rpscm3.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-197 \" title=\"rpscm3\" src=\"http:\/\/sccm.haas.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/rpscm3-450x339.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"339\" srcset=\"http:\/\/sccm.haas.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/rpscm3-450x339.png 450w, http:\/\/sccm.haas.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/rpscm3.png 962w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-197\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">This is only necessary if you want scheduled reports delivery by mail as an option instead of file share only.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/p>\n<p><figure id=\"attachment_200\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-200\" style=\"width: 450px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sccm.haas.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/rpscm4.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-200 \" title=\"rpscm4\" src=\"http:\/\/sccm.haas.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/rpscm4-450x339.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"339\" srcset=\"http:\/\/sccm.haas.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/rpscm4-450x339.png 450w, http:\/\/sccm.haas.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/rpscm4.png 962w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-200\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">No need to configure this.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/p>\n<p>I assume reinstalling reporting services in native mode should also help if you run into this issue.<\/p>\n<p>Did you find this helpful?
